For those of you who have been waiting for the new Nike Air Jordan 11 “72-10” to be released on Dec.19, here's great new for you.
Several reports about the highly-anticipated pair will be released a week earlier on Dec. 12. Yes, that simply means that the shoemaker has decided to give the shoe's release a push.
Sole Collector said that the shoe model has already generated much talk over the Internet. The “72-10” has been designed in celebration of the historic 72-10 Chicago Bulls season in 1995-69, where the team led by airman Michael Jordan has won 72 games – surpassing any known record at that time.
NBA Encyclopedia shared that this was Jordan's first full season since he returned to the NBA. It was then that he got his eighth scoring title and scored three awards: being hailed as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the regular season, the All-Star Game and the NBA Finals.
Although the shoe may not be all identical to an original look, it wouldn't hurt to be one of the few that will wear footwear commemorating the historical wins of the basketball legend. Perhaps, the shoe might even push players to play harder.
Nice Kicks reported that the shoe can only be purchased through a draw. Nike says that the draw is a randomized selection to choose who will be eligible to purchase a pair. This is only for men's sizes, as kids' sizes will be launched separately on Nike.com.
Hopefuls will need to set up an account with Nike (only one per person is allowed), have it verified and then sign up for a raffle that will be held Dec. 12, between 8AM and 10AM EST.
Kicks On Fire reported that Adidas will also launch the Yeezy 750 Boost Black colorway on Dec. 19. Although the news outlet speculates that Nike is “ducking” its rival company, business is business. Probably, Nike just wants to have the Air Jordan 11 “72-10” released earlier for the holiday shopping spree.
With the Adidas Yeezy 350 Moonrock's release causing chaos just a few weeks ago, Nike could be doing shoppers a big favor: deciding to release an awesome shoe ahead of others along with a simple “raffle” system will ensure peaceful shopping.
Apparently, this shoe is a good choice for shoppers looking to purchase something awesome for the holidays.
